There are more stars in the universe than
all the grains of sand on all the beaches
of the world. Among those stars, how many
have planets the same distance from them as
earth? It would be the greatest discovery in
all of human history if we discovered life
outside of earth. Seti (The Search for Ex-
terristrial Intelligence) is listening for
radio signals that may be being emitted by
other life in space. Over 1,260,000 people are
using their home computers to help the search
using a screen saver from seti. I feel that
this is an excellent way to unleash the true
power of the internet.
This experiment has created the largest super-
computer in the world via the internet. Problem
solving on this level, can and will be used for
many other applications in the future.
There are millions of computers out there, but
when you aren't working on them, what are they
doing? A pentium III is a terrible thing to waste!
My interests are computers, space, and classic
american muscle cars.
